Questa fotocamera a telemetro fu commercializzata tra il 1984 ed il 1998, estremamente funzionale e dal design classicamente compatto appartenente alla serie M, la Leica M6 rimane tutt'oggi un caposaldo della fotografia di strada.
Questa nuova versione, combina il corpo della prestigiosa Leica M3 con un'esposimetro tutto nuovo ed integrato di nuova generazione.
Il corpo macchina non è più in ottone ma è composto da un nuovo materiale in lega di magnesio molto più leggero ed economico.
Come da tradizione, la messa a fuoco è a telemetro ed il formato per la pellicola è 35 mm.
Ancora molto atttiva nel mercato dell'usato ed anche molto ricercata, grazie alla sua completezza di accessori e funzioni, la M6 produce scatti con tempi per l'otturatore che vanno da 1 sec ad 1/1000 di sec ed un'ottima modalità bulb per le pose più lunghe.
Il mirino ha un'ingrandimento standard pari a 0.72 x (49,9 mm) oltre alla possibilità di eseguire uno switch in modalità 0.58x (40,2 mm) e 0.85x (58,9 mm).
La sensibilità ISO/ASA è selezionabile in un'intervallo che va dal valore 6 a 6400.
Le dimensioni di questa fotocamera sono le seguenti 138 × 77 × 38 mm mentre il peso è di 585g.
La versione M6 TTL deve essere munita di batterie per poter attivare l'uso di un flash, inoltre ergonomia e messa a fuoco molto precisa fanno si che questa fotocamera Leica sia un autentico gioiello della meccanica.

This rangefinder camera was marketed between 1984 and 1998, extremely functional and classically compact design belonging to the M series, this Leica M6 still remains a cornerstone of street photography.
This new version, combines the body of the prestigious Leica M3 with un'esposimetro all new and integrated new generation.
The machine body is no longer in brass but is made from a new material magnesium alloy much lighter and cheaper.
As usual, the focus is rangefinder and size for the film is 35 mm.
Still very atttiva in the used market and also much sought after due to its complete range of accessories and functions, Leica M6 cameras produces shots with time for the shutter ranging from 1 sec to 1/1000 sec and a good bulb mode for the longer exposures.
The viewfinder has a zoom standard equal to 0.72 x (49.9 mm) and the ability to perform a switch-mode 0.58x (40.2 mm) and 0.85x (58.9 mm).
The ISO / ASA is selectable value in an interval ranging from 6 to 6400.
