Creato tra il 1957 ed il 1974, il Leica Elmar 50mm f/2.8 è senz'altro uno degli obiettivi più famosi! La sua straordinaria versatilità, luminosità, nitidezza e compattezza lo rendono un obiettivo di tutto rispetto!

Questa lente prodotta, con successo, in oltre 27.000 esemplari con attacco a vite e 30.000 con attacco a baionetta gode di 4 elementi in 3 gruppi ed è dotato di un diaframma a 13 lame ricurve.

L'esemplare sopra raffigurato con montaggio a vite pesa circa 191.6 g mentre quello con attacco a baionetta circa 220 g, una differenza considerevole, dunque.

Le qualità di questo obiettivo sono svariate, tra cui la totale assenza di distorsione negli scatti, un bokeh molto piacevole sugli oggetti fuori fuoco, di costruzione molto robusta con materiali in ottone e plastica, ha una nitidezza straordinaria in particolar modo ad aperture vicine ad f/8.

Ad aperture minori è possibile notare un calo verso i bordi ma nulla di fastidioso, anzi, un'ottimo effetto!

Questo tipo di obiettivo è detto "rientrante", questo perchè in forma compatta è necessario estrarre il cilindro comprendente le lenti fino al massimo e posizionarlo in fase di bloccaggio ruotandolo leggermente verso sinistra. Tutto ciò è necessario se si desidera scattare senza sfocature e ai massimi livelli possibili!

E' dotato di una classica leva la quale permette il perfetto allineamento delle immagini per la messa a fuoco con telemetro, sistema ancora oggi molto preciso e di ottima qualità.

L'ottica è un 4/3 ed è necessaria una distanza minima di un metro per poter mettere a fuoco, infine il diametro filtri è di 39 mm.

E' ancora possibile trovare questo obiettivo nel mercato dell'usato in quanto oramai uscito fuori produzione dal 1974.

The specimen shown above with screw mounting weighs about 191.6 g while the bayonet about 220 g, a considerable difference, then.

The quality of this objective are varied, including the total absence of distortion in the shots, a very pleasant bokeh on objects out of focus, of a very sturdy construction with materials in brass and plastic, has an extraordinary sharpness especially at openings close to f / 8.

For smaller apertures it is possible to notice a decrease towards the edges but nothing annoying, indeed, a very good effect!

This type of lens is called "falling", because in this compact form is necessary to extract the cylinder comprising the lens up to the maximum and position during locking twisting slightly to the left. This is necessary if you want to shoot without blur and at the highest level possible!
