Filtri IR, forse non tutti sanno di cosa si tratta! Vediamo insieme a cosa servono questi strumenti!

L'infrarosso è una banda dello spettro elettromagnetico che si trova tra le onde radio ed il visibile o meglio tra i 700nm ed 1mm circa.

Viene denominata così dal latino "infra" (sotto) e rosso, perchè è il colore che si riesce a vedere a frequenze basse.

In fotografia utilizziamo particolari filtri per bloccare queste frequenze e far passare soltanto quella relativa alla luce visibile.

Nella maggior parte dei casi l'IR produce effetti indesiderati come una riproduzione del colore non reale dunque falsata e poco gradevole. A volte questo difetto viene utilizzato per rappresentare i soggetti sotto una luce diversa con un effetto particolare e voluto.

Un particolare da tenere in considerazione è che ogni qual volta esponiamo tali filtri ad una luce IR molto intensa, essi tendono a surriscaldarsi. E' bene dunque non abusarne a lungo e tenere ogni tanto la fotocamera a riposo dal sole!

Se ci si vuole, al contrario, cimentare in questo tipo di fotografia le soluzioni sono molte.

Un tempo bastava una pellicola infrarossa ed un filtro per la radiazione visibile. Ora la situazione è cambiata grazie anche ai nuovi sensori digitali.

Se parliamo di reflex ad esempio, dobbiamo considerare che la quasi totalità di queste fotocamere possiede al suo interno un filtro IR per bloccare tali frequenze. In teoria se si vuole lavorare bene, si dovrebbe rimuovere tale filtro per permettere al sensore ccd o Cmos di poter ricevere tali radiazioni.

Il processo non è semplice e non alla portata di tutti con, a volte, costi elevati!

Il risultato, però è eccellente in particolar modo per quanto riguarda foto in bianco e nero, infatti risulteranno molto dettagliate, nitide e super contrastate.

Per quanto riguarda il colore, invece, si dovrà necessariamente far uso di filtri !

The result, however, is excellent especially with regard to black and white photos , it will be very detailed , sharp and super contrast.
