Questo obiettivo è un classico della linea Canon EOS ed è anche una lente di notevoli qualità se ci si aspetta nitidezza e praticità. Certo non lo si può paragonare ai più moderni obiettivi per professionisti ma fa certamente un'ottima figura nel corredo di chiunque.

Il vantaggio maggiore è dato sicuramente dalla leggerezza, solo 130g ma anche dalla sua luminosità, F/1.8.

Il motore autofocus è abbastanza veloce per la sua categoria, si può eseguire tale operazione in modalità manuale anche se risulta assai scomoda a causa della posizione della ghiera in prossimità della parte anteriore esterna del barilotto.

Questo obiettivo è composto da 6 elementi in 5 gruppi con una distorsione del barilotto praticamente trascurabile e questo risulta essere molto importante in fase di scatto.

A compensare questo vantaggio c'è però il problema della vignettatura, cosa molto frequente in questo tipo di lenti. Essa risulta evidente a piena apertura, anche se già ad f/4 il problema non è più rilevabile.

Anche per quanto riguarda il contrasto e le aberrazioni cromatiche si avrà un comportamento analogo a quanto descritto sopra.

A piena apertura questo 50mm soffre di una bassa qualità del contrasto mentre raggiungendo valori medi come f/4 tale difetto non è più così presente.

Per quanto riguarda infine le aberrazioni cromatiche avremo un buon controllo ai bordi con un altrettanto buon rendimento finale.

In conclusione possiamo affermare che siamo di fronte ad un obiettivo estremamente economico, circa 100 euro, molto compatto con problemi di vignettatura non più evidenti a medie aperture e con una nitidezza assai elevata.

Sicuramente un'ottimo acquisto in particolar modo per coloro i quali desiderano qualità a costi molto contenuti.

To compensate for this advantage, however, there is the problem of vignetting, which is very common in this type of lens. It is evident to full opening, even if already at f / 4, the problem is no longer detectable.

Also with regard to the contrast and chromatic aberrations will have a behavior similar to that described above.

At full aperture 50mm this suffers from a low quality of contrast while reaching average values ​​as f / 4, this defect is not so present.

Finally, as regards chromatic aberrations will have a good control on the edge with an equally good yield to maturity.

In conclusion we can state that we are facing an objective extremely cheap, about 100 Euros, very compact with vignetting problems not more evident in medium openings and with a very high sharpness.

Definitely an excellent purchase especially for those who want quality at very low cost.
