Program mode

La modalità "program" o "P" , è un tipo di scatto che ci permette, in maniera quasi automatica, di eseguire fotografie senza badare troppo ad apertura e tempi di esposizione.

Perchè "quasi automatica"?

Essenzialmente ciò che contraddistingue questo tipo di impostazione è la possibilità di effettuare alcuni piccoli cambiamenti a livello di esposizione, di sensibilità senza alterare troppo le decisioni prese in modo autonomo dall'esposimetro e dalla fotocamera.

In breve, alcune reflex permettono di modificare i parametri sopra indicati, in altri casi è possibile agire anche sul bilanciamento del bianco e sul valore dell'apertura del diaframma.

Ovunque, però, questo tipo di scatto vi permetterà di non perdere troppo tempo, pensando esattamente a quali valori impostare.

Personalmente non amo scattare in questo modo ma posso capire che in particolari situazioni la velocità e l'imprevedibilità del soggetto possano spiazzare il fotografo, il quale potrebbe ritrovarsi nella situazione di dover perdere il suo scatto, magari tanto desiderato.

Per poter utilizzare questa modalità, basterà girare la ghiera della nostra reflex su "P" ed iniziare subito a scattare, dopo essersi accertati che non si sia impostata una sensibilità troppo elevata.

 

Un'altra motivazione, importante, per la quale possiamo essere tentati di utilizzare questa opzione di scatto, è la voglia di tentare qualcosina in più di ciò che ci può dare la modalità esclusivamente automatica.

Insomma, è vero punto e scatto, la foto è sempre bella ma l'abbiamo fatta veramente noi? Oppure no? E' vero che la creatività sta anche nella scelta del soggetto e dell'inquadratura ma ai tempi delle reflex analogiche, l'automatismo era quasi una utopia.

Con questo non voglio dire che fotografare in automatico sia sciocco ma penso che il vero appassionato di fotografia, che magari riesce a leggersi tutto questo mio articolo fino in fondo, è mosso da un desiderio molto più alto rispetto a quello di eseguire un semplice click!

Se poi ci mettiamo anche l'acquisto di una buona reflex digitale, allora ecco che la volontà di sperimentare viene fuori.

Bene, la modalità P può essere un buon punto di partenza per incominciare a capire come funziona la magia della luce e quali sono le tecniche giuste per intrappolarla, modellarla e mostrarla in tutto il suo splendore.

Sono sicuro che il passo da qui all'uso di altre modalità semi-automatiche, come la priorità di tempi e la priorità di diaframma e magari il manuale, sarà molto breve.

Mode "program" or "P", is a type of shooting that allows us, almost automatically, to take pictures without paying much attention to openness and exposure times.

Why "almost automatic"?

Essentially what distinguishes this approach is the possibility to make some small changes in the level of exposure, sensitivity without altering too decisions independently from the exposure and camera.

In short, some cameras allow you to edit the above parameters, in other cases it can also act on the white balance and aperture value.

Everywhere, however, this type of shooting you will not waste too much time thinking about exactly what values to set.

Personally I do not like to take this way but I can understand that in certain situations the speed and unpredictability of the subject can displace the photographer, who could find themselves in the situation of having to lose its snap, maybe so desired.

In order to use this mode, simply turn the ring of our reflex to "P" and start shooting right away, after making sure that you have not set a sensitivity too high.

 

Another motivation, important, for which we may be tempted to use this option to shoot, is the desire to groped a little more of what we can give the automatic mode only.

In short, it is true point and click, the photo is always nice but we did it really us? Or not? It 'true that creativity is also in the choice of the subject and the frame but the days of film cameras, the automatic was almost a utopia.

This is not to say that photographing automatically be silly but I think the true photo enthusiast who maybe able to read this article of mine to the end, is driven by a desire much higher than that to run a simple click!

And if we get even purchasing a good digital SLR, then here is the willingness to experiment comes out.

Well, the P mode can be a good starting point to begin to understand how the magic of light and what are the right techniques to trap it, shape it and show it in all its glory.

I am sure that the step from here to the use of other semi-automatic mode, as the shutter priority and aperture priority and maybe the manual, will be very short.
